Accommodations and Meals

Goethe Institut

Housing is pre-arranged by the Resident Director on a double occupancy basis; single occupancy rooms are limited to select locations. A cash allowance is allotted for meals. Meal plans can be reserved in advance or purchased upon arrival by the student. Costs and options vary according to location and are outlined in a Goethe Institut brochure, which is sent to accepted students.

German Compact Program

Students move into their dormitories before the orientation program begins and take meals in the student cafeteria, in town, or in the dormitory. A cash allowance is allotted for meals.

A two-week portion of the program takes place in Blaubeuren, where students live and eat together in the Heinrich Fabri Institut. Housing and meals in Blaubeuren are covered by the Antioch program fees.

Academic Semester(s)

Students are housed in modern dormitories with German students. Care is taken not to place students in international dorms or American clusters. Normally, no more than two students are placed in the same dorm. All rooms are singles. All dormitories have kitchens; most have social space. A cash allowance is allotted for meals (200 Euros/month). Meals may be taken in student cafeterias, restaurants, or dormitory kitchens. Like all old German universities, Tübingen is not situated on a campus, and dorms are located throughout the town. Antioch University’s Resident Directors make housing arrangements based on each student’s indicated priorities and interests. Non-dormitory housing is not payable by Antioch; no refund will be given for alternative housing.
