Requirements
The Comparative Women’s and Gender Studies in Europe program serves both Antioch University (AU) students and undergraduate students from any college or university in the United States. Students in good academic standing with their home institutions may apply.
All majors are welcome, but a minimum of one Women’s or Gender Studies course is required. Involvement in women’s or other gender-oriented organizations is highly recommended. Non credit students who demonstrate a serious commitment to learning will also be considered.
Deadlines
The application deadline is March 30.
We strongly encourage students to visit their study abroad office on their home campus as soon as possible as they may have earlier deadlines.
Late applications will be reviewed on a space available basis. Contact AEA if you are interested in applying after the deadline.
Passports
Students who need to obtain or renew their passports should apply as soon as possible using the expedited option due to major delays at U.S. passport processing centers. (You will need to renew your passport if it is not valid for at least 6 months past the end of the program). Apply for or renew your passport here.
Visas
Students holding a US passport do NOT need to apply for a visa when coming to Europe with the WGSE program as the program length fits within the time constraints of the Schengen treaty visa requirements.
Those WGSE students who wish to travel in Europe prior to or after the program might need to apply for a visa, depending on which European countries they wish to visit.
Students with a non-US passport might need to apply for a Schengen treaty visa prior to coming on the WGSE program. Please contact AEA for more details.
