Antioch Education Abroad  Programs  Europe and Islam  Schedule and Daily Life

Schedule and Daily Life

Europe and Islam: Cultures & Communities is a  FALL semester program.

Pre-Program Preparation
A significant portion of the readings are completed before the program begins. Readings introduce the common themes of the program and present a dynamic mix of scholarship, journalism, and partisan opinion. Students also consult individually with the AEA program advisor with respect to their research ideas. These consultations allow on-site faculty and staff to prepare research contacts and resources for each student’s project.

Orientation
The term begins in Krakow with the program orientation. Several days are spent discussing the pre-program reading assignments as well as cross-cultural similarities and differences between Europe and the United States.

Itinerary
A more detailed program schedule will be published once it becomes available. Students will spend approximately 14 days in Germany and 14 days in Turkey. The remainder of the program takes place in Krakow, Poland.

Daily Life

On any given day, students on the Europe and Islam program may be attending a guest lecture at the local university, visiting a non-governmental organization, or traveling by train or plane to a new program site.
