Disabilities and Health Concerns

We want everyone to be able to experience the educational benefits of studying abroad during their college career. AEA does not discriminate against any student’s participation in our programs for any health reason or disability.

In order to best accommodate the disability or health needs of students while abroad, we ask students to discuss any conditions with AEA and fill out a health form after admission to one of our programs. Medical Disclosure is critical to prepare our onsite faculty and staff to best address students’ needs.

We strongly encourage students to discuss any potential health concerns with their health care provider prior to studying abroad. We also encourage students to maintain contact with primary care physicians prior to, during, and after participation in one of our programs, especially when pre-existing health conditions are a concern. Occasionally, due to the stress of living in a new environment, a prior health condition may flare up. It is important to be prepared if this occurs, including bringing any needed medications, and following the recommendations of your physician.

AEA has experience in assisting students with various disabilities and health conditions. Feel free to contact us to discuss any questions you may have.
