Arthur J. Zucker (Antioch University graduate)

Art Zucker joined the board in 2001, and is past chair and past vice chair of the board.  He is a 1955 graduate of Antioch College, was the Founder and President of Zucker Associates, Inc., a manufacturer’s representative agency handling the marketing and sales of semiconductors and related electronic components.  Established in 1972 and based in Raleigh, NC, the company was the exclusive representative for 15 large and medium-sized electronics manufacturers located in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.  Sales and engineering support was provided to their customers – major original equipment manufacturers located in the Southeastern U.S.  The company was well respected in the marketplace; most of its employees were technical professionals.

In recognition of the company’s growth and position, Art was appointed to Chair the Advisory Councils of several companies they represented.  The councils’ function was to provide assessment and strategic marketing direction to the senior executives. During Art’s career he was also active in the Electronic Representatives Association (ERA), holding national office and serving as a director. In addition, Art represented ERA on the board of the national Electronic Distribution Show Corp. He retired from Zucker Associates in 1998.

Prior to ’72, Art was employed by General Instrument Corp. in marketing and sales management; and previously with Raytheon and Square D Company.

Art currently serves on Trusteeship, Finance and Endorsement Committees of Temple Beth Or, the Reform Jewish synagogue in Raleigh; having previously served as President, Past President and Treasurer.  Art and his wife, Betty, are supporters of the N.C. Symphony and the N.C. Museum of Art.
