Elsa Luna
Elsa Luna joined the board in 2012. She has over fifteen years’ executive level experience. Since February 2007, she has been the CFO of the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles and is responsible for the direct financial management and organizational development of this $123M non-profit service agency whose mission is the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism. She has extensive hands-on experience in management, business, leadership, and working with a board of directors, financial institutions, attorneys and auditors.
Prior to her position at the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles, Elsa served as Controller for the Carnegie Institution of Washington – The Observatories, a non-profit astronomical science observatories located in Chile and Pasadena where she managed complex budgets totaling $26M for operations, federal grants and capital projects. In addition, she previously served as Chief of Finance and Administration for the Mountains Recreation Conservation Authority, a government non-profit agency which focused on acquiring and maintaining parklands, where she was responsible for the development and administration of an $85M budget involving real estate acquisitions, construction, operations and education programs.
Elsa earned her BA in Political Science with an International Economics Relations Concentration from UCLA in California. Her Master’s in Business Administration is from the University of Redlands. She is a member of the National Hispanic Masters of Business Administration Associate Junior League of Los Angeles.
