Ecocamps - Overnight Camps


Overnight Camps

Monday 9:00 am through Friday at 2:00 pm.
Parents are welcome to come on Friday at 2:00 pm to see a short production by campers highlighting their experiences.
Fee for overnight camps: $280

Glen Safari (ages 8-10)
Bring out the animal inside of you while you learn about the wild side of the Glen! You’ll spend a whole week discovering the wild things of Glen Helen. Call owls, track animals, explore a cave, and take care of the Outdoor Education Center’s resident snakes and turtle!

Eco Art (ages 8-10)
The beauty in nature is all around! Let explorations in the Glen inspire you, and then express yourself by painting, dyeing, poetry, clay, and more! Discover the beauty of the Glen and learn how to use its natural materials to create art and crafts.

Aqua Explorers (ages 9-11)

Get wet and wild exploring water systems! Explore pretty ponds, quick creeks, and mucky bogs as you discover the water cycle through a variety of games and activities. Go on an in-depth stream study to discover the health of a local creek. The wetter the better!

Frontier Ohio (ages 9-11)
Find out what life was like for kids along the Ohio River in 1796, as you learn about pioneers and Native Americans. Experiment with pioneer cooking, learn pioneer crafts, and experience artifacts from 8,000 years ago. Campers will go on a special field trip to see what life was like in the late 1700’s.

Rock Stars (ages 9-11)
Become your very own Rock Star while you explore the rocks of the Glen and the stars in the Universe. Hike along the trails and explore unique geologic features and caves along the way. Trips to Caesar’s Creek to go fossil hunting, and a Boonshoft Planetarium show send this camp out with a big bang!

Eco Expedition(ages 11-13)
Campers will embark on a grand expedition through the Glen’s many trails. Learn skills such as navigation, trailblazing, and Leave No Trace hiking. Campers will travel through forests, over streams, and into the Clifton Gorge on all day hikes!

Raptor Camp (ages 11-13)

Learn about hawks, eagles, and owls. Search for raptors in the Glen and take trips to raptor habitats and nesting sites. You’ll even care for a resident bird of prey at our Raptor Center.

Night Camp (ages 11-13, 13-14, and 14-15)
Sign up early for our most popular camp! Become a nocturnal animal, sleeping by day and exploring Glen Helen by night. Flying squirrels, owls and luna moths will be your nighttime companions as you meander through the moonlight.


Survivor Camp(ages 12-14)

Learn to survive in the wilderness! Can you build a campfire, navigate a trail, or construct an emergency shelter in the woods? Sharpen your survival skills while completing fun challenges to see if you have what it takes to live in Survivor Camp.
