Life at Glen Helen

Students arrive at Glen Helen usually by bus, and get a big welcome by the Glen Helen Naturalist Staff.

Students live in one of our three dorms with their teachers or chaperones.

Students eat three hot meals in the Lodge dining hall.

Students hike the trails of Glen Helen for field explorations, and they even get to visit the Glen Helen Raptor Center to see birds of prey up close.

Students participate in cooperative and team-building activities.

Students get a healthy afternoon snack, and time to play games or make crafts.

Students support the camp by helping to clean up after meals. Students also collect weather data at the weather station to make a weather report to the rest of the camp.

Students have fun and educational evening programs. On arrival night, the Naturalists entertain students with skits and songs. On departure night, students go on a night hike to explore the nocturnal world.
