Raptor Education
Education is the top priority of the Raptor Center. Birds kept for use in education programs are ones considered unable to survive in the wild. These handicapped birds are on display in outdoor enclosures for public viewing. Students participating in the Outdoor Education Center's school camp and summer Ecocamps all visit the Raptor Center with the help of the naturalist interns. Schools, scouts, and other interested groups come to the Center for scheduled programs and tours. Staff members also take birds traveling off-site to present even more programs. Through its education efforts, the Center reaches thousands of people each year, who hopefully gain a greater understanding, appreciation, and concern for raptors and other wildlife.
