Programs at Glen Helen

Outdoor Education Center

The Outdoor Education Center is dedicated to providing programs for both children and adults that seeks to develop their appreciation of the natural world and an awareness of environmental problems along with the ecological principles that influence them. We are committed to helping students to develop improved self-concepts and to refine their interpersonal relationship skills.

Extension Naturalist Programs

This outreach program caters to small classroom or group settings. Lessons correspond to state and national academic content standards. Extension naturalist programs involve hands-on activities and usually include take home or continuing projects. They are designed for specific ability levels, and can be offered as part of a curricular unit or as a single event. Unique programs can be developed to address specific needs for any small group.

Raptor Programs

Education is the top priority of the Raptor Center. Birds kept for use in education programs are ones considered unable to survive in the wild. These handicapped birds are on display in enclosures for public viewing. Schools, scouts, and other groups are able to scheduled raptor programs and tours. Staff members also take birds off-site for programs.
