Summary

Antioch University seeks an extraordinary educator committed to academic excellence, practitioner emphasis, and learner-centered pedagogy for a distinctive interdisciplinary PhD in Leadership and Change. We are looking for an experienced scholar-practitioner with both scholarly and applied expertise. The following areas are preferred: community leadership, environmental leadership, the arts & social change, or leadership in the professions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: teaching in multi-year curriculum in the theory, practice, research and reflection on leading change; evaluating student research and experiential study; facilitating learning within virtual community; advising; chairing & serving on dissertations; and collaborating with team-oriented faculty in program governance.

This is a rigorous, low-residency, competency-based, and cohort-based program. The geographically dispersed doctoral community meets at quarterly residencies held at Antioch campuses nationwide. Between residencies, students and faculty engage in a dynamic virtual community that supports individualized & collaborative learning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful applicant must have: a doctorate in area related to core curriculum; established record of research and practice relevant to \"leadership and change\"; substantial experience with graduate students, with experience on dissertations preferred; competence teaching applied research; experience with education experimentation; commitment to democratic and inclusive processes working across difference. Must be excited by the prospect of building a unique learning community with a collaborative team of faculty.

Physical Requirements

This is a full-time position at full professor level. Excellent benefits. Faculty work from home offices. Quarterly travel is required. Significant involvement in technologically enabled learning necessary. Start date is Fall 2010, some flexibility.
