SCAN-TV Features Antioch Programming

Strategic Communication and other students in the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University Seattle now partner with SCAN Community Media to create a half-hour program called Antioch Now.

The program airs at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday and Wednesday of each month on SCAN-TV (Channel 77) and is streamed live.

B.J. Bullert, Antioch core faculty in Strategic Communication, says the partnership with SCAN offers tremendous creative opportunities for students to learn to work in community media.

“We were looking for a way for our students to gain real world experience,” Bullert notes. “With a little networking, we were able to work with SCAN and create an ongoing community partnership.”

Students generate their own content and tell slice-of-life stories about Antioch and their experiences on the Belltown campus.

The first telecast premiered Jan. 12. The next Antioch Now program is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9, repeated at the same time Feb. 11.
