Lay the foundation for the modern classroom.
Technology and education increasingly have become integrated. In the modern classroom, both magnify and support each other. Libraries have also become more than a place for books and studying. In a technological world, they serve as the hub of curiosity, innovation, and inspiration. Regardless of your familiarity with technology, this certification will ensure you understand all of the ways new advancements can be brought to your community’s classrooms and libraries to enhance the learning experience. Design a powerful learning experience by combining information, technology, and your education expertise for the greater good of your school community.
These certificates are offered by AU New England.
Program Overview
This program will allow you to add a Library Media Specialist or a Digital Learning Specialist (formerly Educational Technology Integrator) Certification (or both!) to your existing teaching credential. With only one on-campus course, you can complete this additional certification almost totally online.
In our Digital Media Specialist certificate program, you’ll explore the ways that pedagogy and technology support and magnify one another. That’s because quality educational technology integration is 30% technology and 70% pedagogy. Whether you consider yourself a tech guru or a tech newbie, we can help you make sure that technology is working for you and your students, instead of the other way around.
The Library Media Specialist (LMS) certification only program at Antioch University New England (AUNE) reflects our Critical Skills Classroom model and our long-held belief that the developmental and learning needs of children are at the heart of educational endeavors and that schools should be structured and run in a humanistic and democratic manner in order to serve these students. The LMS serves as a “master educator,” prepared to combine information, pedagogy, and technology to design powerful learning experiences for the school community.
