Confident Conversations: A Weekend with Doug Braun-Harvey

Course Description

Join us for an evening with acclaimed author and award-winning sex therapist Doug Braun-Harvey to learn, with other colleagues, an alternative sexual health model for assessing and treating sexual behavior problems. This evening event is an opportunity for case consultation from a leader in the field of sexual health. Participants are encouraged to bring details from their practice for case consultation. This evening event is designed to optimize discussion, dialogue and lively critical thinking regarding the treatment of sexual health and out of control sexual behavior (OCSB). 

February 1 – Having Confident Conversations with Your Clients About Sex

Certified sex therapist, author, trainer and co-founder of The Harvey Institute, Douglas Braun-Harvey will engage attendees in learning and experiencing multiple tools that prepare therapists to integrate sexual health conversations within their everyday practice.

Learn how six principles of sexual health provide touchstones for co-constructing sexual health conversations and apply these fundamental tools in individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy. Improve your treatment outcomes by moving beyond common therapist and client struggles in talking about sexual worries, problems and disorders. Learn to integrate sexual health assessment tools and psychotherapy skills that increase your personal and professional confidence in talking about sex!

About Doug Braun-Harvey:

Doug Braun-HarveySexual health author, trainer and psychotherapist Douglas Braun-Harvey bridges sexual and mental health and facilitates organizational change. In 2013, Doug Braun-Harvey and Al Killen-Harvey co-founded The Harvey Institute, an international education, training, consulting and supervision service for Improving health care through integration of sexual health. Doug teaches and trains nationally and internationally, linking sexual health principles within drug and alcohol treatment, group psychotherapy, HIV prevention and treatment, and child maltreatment.

Since 1993, Doug has been developing and implementing a sexual health-based treatment approach for men with out of control sexual behavior (OCSB). Mr. Braun-Harvey is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Sex Therapy Supervisor and Certified Sex Therapist. He is Adjunct Assistant professor in the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University and Faculty for The University of Michigan Certificate Program in Human Sexuality.
