Pitching to Investors
Today’s emerging business has more options than ever to raise capital. Understanding the financial market landscape is essential to a successful strategy. Investors expect a simple, well-thought-out pitch deck that outlines that business case, use of funds, and various contingencies involved in the opportunity. “Pitching to Investors” is a hands-on overview:
- Sources of capital (Angels, VCs, Private Equity, Crowdfunding)
- Best practices to obtain meetings/develop opportunities
- Critical aspects of the pitch for each audience.
Led by award-winning entrepreneur Jacques Habra who has helped raise over $10MM for various startups in his 20 year career.
Then, you’re invited to join us again on Saturday, April 8 at 10 am for an info session about the MBA program led by the chair, Anna Kwong. Sign up now!
About the Presenter
Jacques Habra is an award-winning serial entrepreneur who has founded or co-founded 8 startups in the past 20 years. Several of Habra’s companies have been acquired and others have gone on to achieve series B and C funding levels. Habra explains “the startups that didn’t work out taught him even more than the success stories.” Local and regional success stories include being the lead investor and interim CEO for TrackR (formerly Phone Halo) which recently raised $10MM, launch and sale of SBClick, and launch of First Click – still in operations. Habra serves on several non-profit boards in the community and in 2016 was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Santa Barbara Technology and Industry Association.
