Why Antioch University

At Antioch University, we believe in the power of education to change lives and create a better world.

Our unique approach to learning is rooted in social justice, inclusion, and personal empowerment. Here, we offer more than just a degree; we offer an experience that transforms both the individual and the community.

We provide students with individualized advising and offer small, interactive classes through a variety of flexible learning formats to fit your unique needs.

Narrative Assessment

Antioch University’s learning philosophy has always been based on individual evaluation and synthesis of what you’ve learned into demonstrated knowledge. We use narrative assessment, rather than letter grades, to provide a meaningful, actionable evaluation of what you’ve learned. Letter grade equivalencies for graduate school applications or employer tuition reimbursement are available upon request.

Financial Aid

Many students finance their education through some form of financial aid. You may not be sure which federal, state, public, and private aid packages – such as loans, scholarships, and grants – are right for you. Our staff is here to help you so you can focus on what’s most important: beginning your academic program.

Admission Process

Our admission process focuses holistically on your life experience, taking into consideration the possibility you may be returning to formal education after many years. Using a system of Prior Learning Credits, interviews, references, and essays, we take into account all of your applied knowledge and experiences. At Antioch University, your lived and earned knowledge is a valuable asset.

Coalition for the Common Good

Antioch University is a proud co-founder of the Coalition for the Common Good, the first national higher education system of affiliated universities organized around a shared mission of educating students not only to advance their careers but to promote our pluralistic democracy, social, and racial, economic, and environmental justice, and the common good.
