Antioch University is looking for an experienced and motivated collections specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The duties will include creating an internal collections strategy for our default accounts in order to manage the receivables, and to develop mitigation strategies for the future. The role requires someone with the ability to balance between maintaining trustful relationships and guaranteeing timely payments. This role requires outstanding communication and negotiation skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection.
Essential Job Functions
- Process student payments – 70%
- Coordinate and distribute student statements and invoices to improve student receipts
- Collaborate with Financial Services to negotiate payment arrangements for default accounts
- Collect and process student payments in accordance with payment due dates
- Make collection calls and establish outreach campaigns for outstanding accounts
- Coordination with local student account teams at each campus and efforts to support collections with student engagement
- Manage account data – 30%
- Create liquidity and financial reserve models on potential receivable changes
- Analyze data to determine relevant conclusions and suggest appropriate actions to management
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements
- 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in a university or customer service environment
- Intermediate skills utilizing Excel, including complex formulas in order to acquire, organize, and analyze data
- Experience in Colleague ERP Software preferred

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize routine tasks
- Ability to work (both independently and in conjunction with others) effectively and cooperatively in a collegial team environment.
Hours of Employment
This is a full-time position serving a national university. A work schedule will be established in consultation with the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, and talk or hear.
