Method to assess remote work: Supervisor will be in weekly communication with the student to monitor that the work is being completed. Student will attend and assist with class over Zoom, as the TA. See below for outcomes.
Job Description
- Teaching Assistant for the Environmental Data Analysis M.S. class (ES 5190).
- Attend class sessions over Zoom and help answer questions and provide support to students during classes and online throughout the semester (3 hours/week), specifically assisting with statistical analysis content and work in R.
- Provide tutoring in content and skills related to statistical analyses to students who need additional support (3 hours/week).
- Student will also assist with grading assignments (3-4 hours/week).
- Work will occur during class time, Thursdays 1-4 pm as well as outside of class (online) as arranged with individuals or groups of students.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have taken EDA or Research Strategies I at AUNE or a very similar class at another university.
- Applicants should have:
• A strong quantitative background and ability to use Excel and R for data management and analysis
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability and interest in working with other graduate students to build knowledge and skills
• Federal work study funds during the spring semester 2026
