Job Description
Position Overview: The Co-designing Conservation Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of the Co-designing Conservation Project at Roger Williams Park Zoo. This position assists in ensuring the effective implementation of outreach and engagement efforts which include a significant research component (20 hours/week).
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in collaborating with the Co-designing Conservation Project Manager and team members to plan and organize Co-designing Conservation Project meetings, workshops, and events, ensuring seamless logistical coordination. Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in the creation and distribution of communication materials, including newsletters, social media content, and event flyers, in alignment with project objectives.
Database Management: Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in maintaining organized and up-to-date databases and records related to Co-designing Conservation Project contacts and engagement activities. Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in support the coordination of internal opportunities, including scheduling and efficient communication.
Logistical Support: Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in providing essential logistical support for programs, awareness campaigns, and Co-designing Conservation events, ensuring the smooth execution of these initiatives. Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow with administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining organized project files.
Community Engagement: Actively participate in Co-designing Conservation events, conservation activities, and community engagement initiatives, representing the organization professionally.
Research Component: Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in conducting thorough research on relevant Co-designing Conservation topics, gathering data to inform project objectives and contribute valuable insights. Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow to utilize research findings to support project planning and decision-making processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow to gather, analyze, and summarize Co-designing Conservation feedback and engagement data, contributing to comprehensive project reports and assessments. Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow in Assist AUNE Co-Design Graduate Fellow collaborating with the project team to ensure that data-driven insights inform ongoing initiatives.
Environmental Awareness: Stay well-informed about local environmental issues and initiatives relevant to RWPZ conservation, remaining updated on emerging trends and best practices.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Must be a current student at Antioch University New England, pursuing a master's degree or PhD. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in using office software and online communication tools. A demonstrated passion for community engagement, conservation, and research. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and adapt to evolving project needs. Eagerness to engage in community events and activities, occasionally including weekends and evenings.
