Shari Foos Opens DIY Human Studio in Santa Monica

Shari Foos, Undergraduate Studies faculty, AULAShari Foos, MA, MFT, MS, founder and Creative Director of The Narrative Method, is an alumna of the MA in Clinical Psychology program, Adjunct Faculty in the Undergraduate Studies Department, and the founder of the Bridge Program. She recently opened the DIY Human Studio in Santa Monica, CA. The space will serve as a brick and mortar location for DIY Human, a “social movement that creates radical human connection in an age when loneliness is at epidemic proportions.”

DIY Human offers thought-provoking group experiences including the DIY Human Master Classes, DIY Human Card nights, and salons. These programs weave a tapestry of stories, creative prompts, inspiring video clips, and compelling conversations. “There is a painful correlation between loneliness and the potential decline of mental and physical well-being. The antidote is not affirmations, it’s connections,” says Foos. “Our lives become more meaningful when we share them through our stories. No small talk—just big talk.”

All DIY Human classes, salons, and products are based on the core concepts of THE NARRATIVE METHOD, an award-winning nonprofit program that facilitates radical human connection. TNM has delivered over 600 workshops and trainings to veterans’ organizations, social service programs, schools, and underserved youth.
