So Famous and So Gay: The Fabulous Potency of Truman Capote and Gertrude Stein
400 Corporate Pointe
Culver City, CA 90230

Award-winning author Jeff Solomon will be discussing his recently
published book So Famous and So Gay written from an appreciative
gay-affirmative perspective. These two literary figures were visibly
homosexual in their work and public lives long before Stonewall in 1969.
Solomon will relate how these two expressed their homosexuality while
negotiating homophobia. How were these important figures able to
do this and have such impactful cultural prominence? What was their
fabulous potency that could not be ignored? We will examine how these
precursors to LGBT liberation can inspire current methods of being
LGBT affirmative societally and psychologically.
