Job Description and Any Special Skills:
This exciting position is especially well suited for a student in either the undergrad or one of the graduate programs who has an interest in literature and publishing. The student’s primary responsibility is to track and post the twice yearly issue of our BA in Creative Writing Program’s literary journal, Two Hawks Quarterly.com on our Word Press website. Each issue contains about 25-40 poems, stories, and/or essays.
Prior experience with Word Press (or a similar platform) and comfort with technology are very important. Our current Federal Work Study (FWS) student, who is graduating, has also participated very actively in selecting and helping to edit the work we’ve chosen to publish. Writing, copy editing skills, and attention to detail highly desirable. The current work/study chose to attend most meetings of Two Hawks Quarterly students every Tuesday 4-7 although this is not mandatory. The FWS student will interact closely with faculty supervisors, as well as our tech advisor in Connecticut, and student interns of the journal.
