MFA in Creative Writing '07
"My field study in the MFA program was to work with an organization called InsideOut Writers, teaching self-expressive writing to incarcerated teens. We looked at our lives internally and then tried to figure out where things might be able to change. Through self-expressive writing, we were able to arrive at that great existential idea of choice. The experience had a profound effect on me; I continue to work with them to this day....I reinvented myself through the MFA program, and have found myself in a new career which I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy."
