For over 150 years, Antioch has been a leader in progressive education, offering our students the opportunity to learn in an environment that values and builds upon their experiences. Antioch University Los Angeles was established 45 years ago as a student-centered learning community where meaningful discourse—not memorization of facts—is a core value.
Our campus reflects the rich diversity of our city. Our unique programs have distinguished and dedicated faculty who promote a high level of interaction with many partner organizations in our communities.
With an Antioch education you can expect individual attention, collaborative engagements, and an environment that encourages students to exceed their own expectations. Our students report that they have had life-changing experiences in each of our transformative educational offerings.
Small classes and attentive professors who care about their students are part of the DNA of Antioch University. Individual attention allows you to build mentoring relationships with professors who value each individual’s learning style. Our faculty are ready to help and challenge you throughout your studies and into your future careers.
Lively discussions and meaningful interactions with fellow students and faculty provide you with a dynamic environment that leads to more effective learning. Group discussion and collaborative exercises create the opportunity for multiple perspectives and skill sets that enrich your learning. This environment also introduces and enhances invaluable leadership skills that are applicable in any environment.
Classroom For Adults
Every student you meet at Antioch is here with the same goal: to increase their knowledge and skills. Many Antioch students have been away from school, and they bring a richness of life experience to bear on their academic life.
Antioch recognizes accomplishments that go beyond what is shown on a transcript. Instructors describe your learning in a narrative evaluation of your work. You won’t be graded on a curve. And you won’t be taking Scantron exams to pass your classes.
To us, experiential learning means learning by doing, both inside and outside of the classroom. In every Antioch program, you will translate the theories you study into real-world activities. You will engage in hands-on exercises, internships, traineeships, and fieldwork that provide you with immediate practical knowledge which contribute to your personal and professional growth.
We recognize that you have multiple responsibilities that can’t be ignored while you go back to school. Our programs have been designed for working adults, with different possibilities for learning in and outside of the classroom. Check out our degree options to see how we can help you get the education you desire.
