Fostering change through imaginative movement and role-play.
Antioch University offers a master’s degree that will launch you in the profession of Drama Therapy, with one of two possible licenses:
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
The Antioch program is one of only a few in the country that offers a special focus in Developmental Transformations. In this approach, clients process feelings and thoughts by playing with movements, pretend objects, and roles in theatrical scenes, their play sometimes including dialogue with the therapist about the progress of the therapy.
The Drama Therapy Program at Antioch University is accredited by the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA). Antioch University’s Drama Therapy Program is the only one in the country whose LMHC program is accredited by CACREP, and the only one in the country whose LMFT program is accredited by COAMFTE.
