As our population ages, there is a greater need for health care professionals who work with elders. The concentration in Healthy Aging earned AUSB the CAMFT Award for Outstanding School for meeting the psychological, physical, and social needs of adults over the age of 50. The rigorous, yet rewarding coursework includes:
- Assessment and counseling skills around the challenges and opportunities of healthy aging from a wellness perspective
- Support and prevention resources for families and caretakers of older individuals
- Emergency and crisis intervention training
- Clinical fieldwork and supervision
This concentration meets the educational requirements for California licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
The program includes online, hybrid, and weekend classes to meet the needs of your busy life. It also offers an optional ninth quarter to meet LPCC requirements. Lend your support to this often underserved population.
