Vermicomposting topic of 10/14 Carbon Counts Workshop
Join Jessica Skinner, MS Environmental Studies Candidate and Antioch New England solid waste coordinator for a hands-on workshop on vermicomposting, or composting with worms. Vermicomposting is an excellent way to turn food scraps into beautiful soil and is a way to compost throughout the winter.
Vermicomposting reduces waste in our landfills and incinerators. It increases carbon storage, reduces pollution, and the resulting compost reduces the need for fertilizers.
During this workshop, you will learn the benefits of vermicomposting and you will have an opportunity to construct your very own worm bin.
This event is a Carbon Counts: You Can Too brown bag lunch presentation. Please R.S.V.P. to Abigail Abrash Walton on FirstClass. It is sponsored by ANE’s Sustainability and Social Justice Committee.
