ES Students Presenting Around the U.S. in October

Environmental Studies students were out and about this month, presenting at three different professional conferences:

•Allan Pearce, a second-year student in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change concentration, presented on AUNE’s Community Garden Connections Initiative at the New Hampshire Children in Nature conference, “Discovering Nature Wherever You Are,” at the Castleton Conference Center, October 4, in Windham, New Hampshire.

•Pearce; Karen Alsen, first-year Environmental Education student; Libby McCann, director of AUNE’s Environmental Education program; and Tania Schusler, adjunct ES faculty member, participated in “Food Justice and Environmental Education: an Interactive Dialogue,” at the North American Association for Environmental Education Conference, October 9-13, in Oakland, California.

•Caitlin Stewart, first-year student in Environmental Education, presented a poster on “Community Gardens Engage Students to Serve as a Bridge between University and Community,” at the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education Conference in Los Angeles, California, October 14-17.
