Abigail Abrash Walton Receives Travel Grant for Denver Forum
Abigail Abrash Walton, director of AUNE’s Center for Academic Innovation (CAI), has been awarded a $2,000 grant to present the CAI’s Translating Research to Inform Policy (TRIP) at the inaugural National Adaptation Forum, April 2-4 in Denver, Colorado. The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has provided the grant funding, awarded through the forum’s organizers.
The National Adaptation Forum will bring together individuals from agencies and organizations to exchange the latest scientific knowledge on climate change adaptation and practices. Amber Pairis, PhD ’05, climate change advisor for the California Department of Fish and Game, is a member of the executive steering committee for the forum.
TRIP is a program of workshops offered by the CAI to educate scientists on becoming involved with public policy by explaining and interpreting their research to policy makers and the public. For more information about TRIP and workshops, contact Kayla Cranston, CAI coordinator, email@example.com.
