ES Students and Faculty Lead Workshops in Rwanda
Faculty and students from AUNE’s Department of Environmental Studies (ES) are conducting eight days of training at the National University of Rwanda in Rwanda for the Regional Network for Conservation Educators in the Albertine Rift (RNCEAR). Beth Kaplin, core faculty member in the ES department, is technical advisor for RNCEAR.
Apollinaire William, ES PhD student, is leading a training in advanced GIS this week. The GIS training will be followed by a training in R software used in analyzing statistical data, taught by John Lloyd, ES affiliate faculty.
Next month Kayla Cranston, ES PhD student, will hold a training on social science research methods, in partnership with a National University of Rwanda professor.
Participants in the training come from twenty institutions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
