Apply for a Travel Grant to LOCAL SOLUTIONS Climate Change Conference
LOCAL SOLUTIONS: Northeast Climate Change Preparedness Conference is expanding the travel grants available to participate in the May 19-21 conference:
- Participants from Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island are now eligible for travel grants of up to $500 per individual.
- Members of Vermont Regional Planning Commission areas, in teams of two to five people, are eligible for travel grants of up to $565 per individual.
- Members of the National Guard in the Northeast are eligible for travel grants of up to $565 per individual.
For all travel grants, preference will be given to decision-makers such as city/town managers, mayors, councilors, emergency preparedness or public works personnel, planning staff, road agents, and parks and recreation staff. Also water/sewer personnel; members of zoning boards, planning boards, wetlands commissions, regional planning commissions and conservation commissions; county government employees; and community leaders.
All grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Details about grants are available here.
AUNE and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will host LOCAL SOLUTIONS May 19;21 in Manchester, New Hampshire. The conference is designed for participants from throughout the region, from the northern Chesapeake Bay watershed to the Canadian Maritime provinces. Local decision-makers from the public sector will be able to network and learn how to better prepare for severe weather and climate change impacts in the Northeast. The conference’s third day Educators Summit will focus on fostering links between schools and communities on preparedness.
