Simpson’s Projects Are Models for Communities Adapting to Climate Change
Michael Simpson, chair of AUNE’s Department of Environmental Studies, is co-leading two projects in Minnesota which are showing communities how they can better protect their infrastructures from the effects of extreme weather.
The projects, in the Minnehaha Creek watershed in Minneapolis and Victor, Minnesota, can serve as models for communities trying to plan for a future made uncertain by climate change. They are part of a ten-year program in New England and the Midwest, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
