Dr. Stephen Reno to Deliver Commencement Address at Antioch University New England
Dr. Stephen Reno, executive director of Leadership New Hampshire, former chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire, professor, public servant and 40-year veteran in the higher education realm, will address Antioch University New England’s (AUNE) 2015 graduates at the university’s commencement. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16 at Keene Middle School, 167 Maple Avenue in Keene beginning at 10 am. He will share insights around “a life of service,” a topic Dr. Reno embodies and AUNE instills in its students.
“The breadth of Dr. Reno’s experience encompasses professional and philanthropic successes,” said Dr. Stephen P. Jones, president of AUNE. “I am confident that his remarks will inspire AUNE’s newest graduates to celebrate the hard work that has gotten them this far, and inspire them to build upon the foundation by serving others.”
Dr. Reno served as chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire from 2001 until 2009. His career in academia and public service – both locally and globally – encompasses numerous awards, appointments and volunteer roles, most recently serving as executive director of the prestigious Leadership New Hampshire program since 2010.
“The impact one person can have in their local community increases exponentially with an education that centers on living an ethical and responsible life,” said Dr. Reno. “I look forward to reflecting on the lessons I’ve learned while serving my community and congratulating Antioch University New England’s newest inspired graduates.”
AUNE will confer master’s degrees in applied psychology, education, environmental studies and organization and management at the commencement event. It will also award doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, applied psychology and environmental studies.
Tickets are required. Graduating students will receive two guest tickets and a limited amount of additional tickets will be offered through academic departments at a later date.
