Noted Naturalist and Earth Scientist Leads Workshop on October 15, 2015

Martin Ogle, a nationally recognized thought leader in the integration of science and cultural understanding, presents a 5-hour workshop in the Community Room at Antioch University New England (AUNE) on Thursday, October 15, 2015, entitled “Geo Sapiens: Earth-Wise Environmental Education and Action.” The event consists of short lectures, hands-on activities, and group discussions which explore the question: How do new scientific understandings of Earth as a single living system intersect with cultural understandings (ancient and new) of human society as a seamless continuum of life? Ogle reviews these concepts and the implications they have on environmental education and action through a multimedia presentation that reveals insights from his 29 years as a naturalist, Earth scientist, storyteller, and community activist. The workshop is a must for science teachers and environmental educators seeking fresh approaches to utilizing new scientific and cultural knowledge in developing exciting curricula for students, regardless of grade level.
