Educational Book by AUNE Trustee Lauded as Outstanding Academic Title
No More Robots: Building Kids’ Character, Competence, and Sense of Place, written by AUNE Board of Trustees member Bob Coulter (’87 MEd) was named a 2015 Outstanding Academic Title by Choice: Current Review for Academic Librarians, a publication of the Association of College & Research Libraries division of the American Library Association.
Every year, Choice editors recognize the most significant print and electronic works reviewed in Choice during the previous calendar year. Appearing annually in the January issue, this prestigious list of publications reflects the best in scholarly titles and attracts extraordinary attention from the academic library community. This year’s list includes 606 titles in 54 disciplines and subsections selected from the more than 6,500 titles reviewed over the past year.
In awarding Outstanding Academic Titles, the editors apply several criteria, including: overall excellence in presentation and scholarship; importance relative to other literature in the field; distinction as a first treatment of a given subject in book or electronic form; originality or uniqueness of treatment; value to undergraduate students; and importance in building undergraduate library collections.
More than 22,000 academic librarians, faculty, and key decision makers rely on the reviews in Choice magazine and Choice Reviews Online for collection development and scholarly research. Choice reaches almost every undergraduate college and university library in the United States.
