AUNE Alumna’s Article on Place-Based Education Published in “Education Leadership”
Sarah Anderson, MEd ’05, a graduate of the Elementary/Early Childhood Education–Integrated Learning program, co-authored an article in Education Leadership, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s flagship publication, recognized throughout the world as an authoritative source of information about teaching and learning, new ideas and practices.
AUNE Professor David Sobel says the article articulates the same core progressive principles of the Education Department at AUNE, and of the Education Departments across the University.
Sarah credits her AUNE education for enhancing her teaching curriculum.
“I chose AUNE because it was the only graduate school in the country I know of that offers a place-based program,” Sarah explained. “I’m so grateful that I found a program in line with my values that fostered such innovative and critical thinking. Since graduating, my experience at AUNE has influenced my curriculum development on a daily basis.”
