Stephanie Tickner Recently Profiled in Fiddleheads Magazine
Stephanie Tickner, administrative coordinator in the Management department at Antioch University New England, was recently profiled in Fiddleheads magazine. From her childhood in New England to her career at Antioch, and everything in between, the article talks about Tickner’s life in full circle.
Stephanie’s artwork has captured viewers with breathtaking yet simple outdoor-inspired themes. She’s a self-taught local artist whose work focuses on the simplicity of nature and the captivating stories she’s able to create within her pieces. Drawing, painting, pencil, and charcoal – she had dabbled in it all. She said, “It has always seemed to me, ever since early childhood, amid all the commonplaces of life, I was very near to a kingdom of ideal beauty.”
As a child, she grew up in Falmouth, Massachusetts and could be found drawing nature pictures out of books.
Her art is still inspired by the wonderful New England surrounds – from her childhood Massachusetts to her current home in Marlow, New Hampshire, where she and her husband settled in 1990.
Tickner is a member of the Marlow Art Colony and has attended a number of Art shows and events in the surrounding area; including the annual “Art in the Park” in Keene. Her art is well known and appreciated in the New England area; even winning Best in Show at the 2012 Glamour in Mud Season art exhibit.
