Part 3: Voices from AUNE PsyD Graduates in the Time of the Pandemic

“We take considerable pride in how alumni and alumnae are changing the world,” said Dr. Vincent Pignatiello, Chair of the Department of Clinical Psychology. “It is exciting that each week we are able to broadcast their voices to the world about their personal and professional journeys. In this third installment, it’s a great pleasure to be able to introduce three alums, two of whom were my own classmates at AUNE, who embody the reflexive, thoughtful, and social justice-oriented mindset of Antioch.”

Dr. David Porrino (Antioch University New England, PsyD ’17) is a neuropsychologist at Sasco River Center which is a multidisciplinary group practice in CT. His focus is on neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy with individuals with acquired neurological disease, mood/anxiety disorders, and related areas of difficulty. After Antioch, he completed clinical rotations at the Neurological Institute at Columbia University Medical Center, Child Mind Institute, Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center, and Westchester Jewish Community Services. David shares his experience of assessment in the time of COVID.

Dr. Rachael Goren (Antioch University New England, PsyD ’12) is currently working at Learning Solutions in Western MA, which also trains PsyD students as part of our practicum network. She shares about learning and being creative with balancing personal, professional, and family lives. Her areas of specialty include college students, ADHD, GLBTQ individuals, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals, eating disorders and disordered eating, trauma, women’s health, infertility, and pre-and post-natal.

Dr. Shoshana Fagen (Antioch University New England, PsyD ’17) is a psychologist working at Franciscan Children’s in Brighton, MA. She shares her experience of engaging in crisis work to help those individuals experiencing psychological duress. Shoshana expands on the creative use of telehealth to help individuals find ways to express themselves.
