Supporting International Writers Workshop
This collaborative workshop aims to collect and share effective ways of responding to international academic writing, both within and across departments. We know from student feedback that clear expectations, consistency in how writing is evaluated, and an encouraging response to non-American elements of English writing are key for the success of our international students. We also know there are faculty who do this well and have good approaches to share, but there are few opportunities for cross-departmental professional development. To help meet these needs, this workshop will incorporate some student feedback about what works for them, some best practices grounded in the literature, and cross-departmental discussion among faculty. Together these approaches offer an opportunity to both engage in reflective practice and benefit the Antioch community.
