Received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1984, having completed his internship in counseling psychology at the Counseling Center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Dr. Arbeitman has been an Affiliate Faculty member in the PsyD program at Antioch since 1987, teaching numerous courses including Psychopathology, Professional Seminar, Couple Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He is training director of the APA-Accredited Internship in Professional Psychology at BHN the Carson Center in Westfield, Massachusetts,  where he has been a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor since 1989.

Dr. Arbeitman specializes in integrative and cognitive-behavioral treatments, and has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He has presented on numerous occasions to hospitals, residential programs, and CMHCs on the DBT treatment model. He is a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts and maintains a private practice in Westfield, where he specializes in couple therapy and the treatment of anxiety disorders.
