Dr. Jamie D. Bower
Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Applied Psychology
Dr. Bower joined Antioch’s faculty in January 2017. She received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, with a cognate in qualitative research methodology, in May 2016 from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Bower received her MPhilEd in Professional Counseling (2011) and MSEd in Counseling & Psychological Services (2010) from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Bower is currently an Assistant Professor for our Online CMHC Program and a course mentor for the Research, Social & Cultural Diversity, and Theories courses. Her clinical experiences include outpatient community mental health and benefits based programming within the school system; Dr. Bower has experience working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, and severe mental illness. Dr. Bower’s research interests include multiculturalism and diversity, specifically focused on experiences for LGBTQ+ individuals in counseling and competence of counselors working with LGBTQ+ populations. In her spare time, Dr. Bower enjoys hiking and spending time with family & her fur-babies.
