As a Student Communications Assistant focused on writing & social media, your job is to sniff out good stories! In addition to assigned work, such as student profiles, event articles, and press releases, you’ll ask what’s going on in the departments, take notes, help draft stories, social media posts, newsletter submissions. Have a phone/camera ready for photos around campus! This work includes research and interviews as needed.
Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills. Fun, friendly, and creative personality. On-campus presence during work. Feel comfortable interacting with faculty, alumni, other students, community members. Familiarity with social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, others a plus.
