Compost Coordinator – T. Malloy

What: Take out compost tri-weekly, clean compost bins, and work closely with AUNE grounds crew to turn and maintain compost piles and compost area. Promote and manage TerraCycle and recycling programs. Encourage students, faculty, and staff to bring their home compost to campus. Oversee the proper distribution of finished compost to area gardens and farms. The Compost Coordinator will also work as a member of the SSJ Committee on campus-wide sustainability and social justice efforts and attend weekly SSJ Committee meetings during the school year.
Where: AUNE campus
Why: The student-run compost system was created over ten years ago to promote sustainability on campus and divert food waste from the landfill or incinerator. The Compost Coordinator plays an important role in that important work by overseeing and expanding this program, promoting change on campus and in our communities, and helping Antioch to practice what we preach.
