NOTE: If you are work study eligible, this position can be supplemented through work study and non-work study funding at $15/hour wage.

Supervisor Comment: When more than one person serves as a Outreach Co-Coordinator, responsibilities and deliverables to be completed will be divided up based on interests, equity and abilities. Each will be equally responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed as outlined and collectively agreed upon by the ee360 team.
ee360 is an initiative of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) that supports innovative environmental education across the country. Through a cooperative agreement with U.S. EPA, NAAEE along with seven partner organizations is leading an ambitious five-year initiative to prepare a diverse cadre of environmental education leaders to increase environmental literacy and EE programming. Antioch University New England’s (AUNE) Environmental Education (EE) Program within the Environmental Studies Department is one of the seven lead ee360 partners (for details, see here.).
This position is intended to help the ee360 Antioch Co-Directors and Antioch ee360 team with projects, educational module design and other programmatic deliverables outlined in Year 4/5 work plan. Duties include a wide range of educational design and general administrative tasks to support ee360’s roll out of the NAAEE Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines for Excellence. Additional responsibilities associated with EE office administration, outreach, marketing, curricula development and/or support of current and prospective students on an as needed basis. Position responsibilities include:
- Assist with the design and implementation of presentations and workshops (virtual and/or face-to-face modalities) focused on the NAAEE Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines. Workshops are designed for pre-service faculty, in-service educators, and leaders in formal and non-formal educational settings.
- Provide programmatic support and assist with administrative duties on a consistent basis to ensure high quality, timely communications of this multi-faceted national initiative (e.g., manage travel reimbursements; workshop planning logistics, email and other outreach communications, notices about the Guidelines in general and train-the-trainer workshops via eePRO, partner newsletters, etc.).
- Complete research, editing, design and/or creation of other training modules and/or educational activities on priority topics and tools highlighted in the Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines (e.g., appreciative inquiry, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, conflict resolution, civic engagement strategies, etc.). Ideally, this work forms the basis of an environmental studies master’s student capstone. As your interest allows, you may play a key role in expanding upon the equity and inclusion (DEI) module to include additional resources and educational activities.
- Represent Antioch University New England ee360 team in various regional and national venues (e.g., national ee360 virtual meetings, conferences, etc.). This includes participation in the NAAEE Conference held in October 2020; travel and registration costs are covered by grant funding.
- Contribute to relevant evaluative data collection and report writing on an as-needed basis.
- Work in collaboration with the AUNE ee360 staff and other partners to design and implement a 1½ day train-the-trainer workshop on the Community Engagement Environmental Education Guidelines conducted at the 2019 NAAEE conference (October).
- Provide marketing and communications support to enhance networking among current/future AUNE students.
- Cultivate social marketing presence of AUNE ee360 activities and EE programming.
- Highlight current EE student and graduate accomplishments for web publication.
- Other duties as identified in collaboration with the EE faculty and ee360 Antioch team members to ensure completion of ee 360 Year 4/5 deliverables and support for AUNE’s EE programming (e.g., literature reviews, represent program externally, office work, program reports, etc.)

Position can also serve as a professional internship for interested enrolled students.
Qualifications Excellent organizational and time management skills, flexible, capacity to work independently and as part of a team, computer savvy, excellent writing skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to network and seek out resources required. Interest and/or experience in culturally responsive educational practices, social media curation, videography, print media, project management, evaluation, community engagement, face-to-face and virtual program design a plus, though not required. Preference given to individuals familiar with Antioch’s EE program and/or experience in the EE field.
