The ES Department Lab and Herbarium maintains a collection of field and lab equipment and botanical specimens that are available for student and faculty use. The Herbarium Assistant supports the Lab and Herbarium Coordinator in most of the operations of the Lab and Herbarium, especially helping students and faculty access the equipment that they need for course work.
The ability to maintain open and regular communication with other Assistants and the Coordinator is essential, as is the self-motivation to work independently without supervision. Training will be provided in the use and maintenance of field equipment, but some experience in field and lab equipment handling is desirable. Interest in and knowledge of plant identification is desirable but not required.
