The graduate research assistant will work, as a member of the Center for Climate Preparedness and Community Resilience staff and under the supervision of its co-director, to implement programmatic elements of Cheshire County’s Building Resilience Against Severe Weather And Climate Effects Grant, awarded by the NH Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of the grant is develop a Plan of Action that builds community resilience to extreme precipitation events and their related health impacts through increased local collaboration and to develop the evidence-based or promising practice intervention that establishes measurable objectives and evaluates change or improvements over time.
The graduate research assistant will collaborate with Southwest Region Planning Commission to assist in completing a comprehensive assessment of existing information regarding regional weather hazards, public health effects, and related intervention strategies; and will facilitate stakeholder sessions to gather additional information from stakeholders.
Specifically, the graduate research assistant will:
- Conduct research to inform development of the Plan of Action;
- Facilitate four stakeholder sessions;
- Compile information and data from research, stakeholder and planning sessions and prepare a Summary Report and Intervention Strategy List.
Demonstrated research and facilitation skills; excellent written and oral communication skills.
