The graduate research assistant will work, as a member of the Center for Climate Preparedness and Community Resilience staff and under the supervision of its co-director, to implement programmatic elements of Cheshire County’s Building Resilience Against Severe Weather And Climate Effects Grant, awarded by the NH Department of Health and Human Services.
The graduate research assistant will collaborate with DHHS subject matter experts, the Greater Monadnock Public Health Network and the Seacoast Public Health Network to provide technical assistance.
Specifically, the graduate research assistant will:
- Provide technical assistance to local communities to develop evidence-based public health plans and interventions to reduce the health impacts (i.e. injury, illness, deaths) of extreme weather events such as heat waves, cold snaps, summer or winter storms, and other changing climate conditions.
- Provide technical assistance to develop a white paper on measures of community resilience to natural disasters.
Demonstrated research and facilitation skills; excellent written and oral communication skills.
