Teaching Assistant for the Ph.D. class Research Strategies I (ES 7270) – Quantitative Research. Attend class sessions and help answer questions and provide support to students during classes and online throughout the semester, specifically with work in Excel and R. Provide tutoring in content and skills related to statistical analyses to students who need additional support. Work will occur during class time on three weekends (Friday 9/13, 11/8, 12/6, 1-6pm, Saturday 9/14, 11/9, 12/7, 8am-12pm, Sunday 9/15, 11/10, 12/8, 8am-12pm) as well as outside of class (online) as arranged with individuals or groups of students. The number of hours/week will be variable and will depend on the week (e.g., at least 15 during the three weekend intensive classes).
Ideally, applicants will be M.S. students that are available during Ph.D. intensive weekends during the fall semester. Applicants must have taken Biostatistics at AUNE or at another university. Applicants should have:
- A strong quantitative background and ability to use Excel and R for data management and analysis
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability and interest in working with other graduate students to build knowledge and skills
- Federal work study funds during the fall semester 2019
