March 8: “Inspiring Change” on International Women’s Day
AUSB proudly joins in the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, in honor of the lives and achievements of women in our community and around the world. The United Nations has declared the theme for 2014 to be “Inspiring Change,” a theme that aligns with the power of communication mediums to advocate and generate awareness for the advancement of women economically, politically, and socially.
From Antioch’s founding in 1852, it has stood for social justice. Antioch was the first in the US to offer the same curriculum to men and women, and to appoint a woman as full professor.
Today, we continue our historic commitment to the promotion of social justice, as we seek to inspire our students and community to take positive action on behalf of women to make a better and more equal world for all.
