Join the Antioch community as we cheer on Elaine Gale’s one-act, one-woman show described as “a compassionate, enlightening journey of weeding through the mess of life and discovering love, new beginnings, finding home and creating a family. This illuminating, autobiographical work is powerful and unflinchingly honest but is balanced by humor.”
Award-winning journalist and playwright, Elaine Gale, said she’s most interested in what is under the surface, and in what people are not talking about, including herself. She earned a MFA in creative nonfiction from Antioch University Los Angeles, and was a nonfiction writer for many national newspapers and magazines in her career before she went back to school for her doctorate in Human Communication and was awarded tenure at California State University, Sacramento, where she is on a professional leave to tour her ONE GOOD EGG show and then finish her memoir manuscript of the same name.
Veteran, award-winning director Rod Lathim, who worked with Gale to highlight the theatrical elements of the script, said: “I was attracted to this work because of its honesty, humor and ability to inspire audiences.”
One Good Egg runs 75 minutes without an intermission and is appropriate for audiences 18 years old and up. It promises to be a rollercoaster of emotions, buoyed by plenty of humor and insight.
